The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Lunar Steel War Axe (Fanart)

In this project, I recreated the iconic Lunar Steel War Axe from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but with a special reimagining that gives a new dimension to the story of this legendary weapon.

The Legend of the Frozen Moon: In Skyrim, a land of frozen mountains and ancient secrets, there exists a legend that few dare to tell: the Legend of the Frozen Moon. According to the story, there was a night many centuries ago when the moon appeared in the sky shrouded in a halo of supernatural blue light, a phenomenon so mysterious that it froze even the air around it. It is said that the cold of that night was so intense that even shadows trembled, and the fastest rivers turned into impenetrable ice.

Scholars and shamans of Skyrim have never fully managed to explain what caused this lunar transformation, but the magic of the Night of the Frozen Moon left its mark on some of the lunar weapons stored in the Lunar Forge. One such weapon was the Lunar Steel War Axe. During that magical night, the axe was blessed with an extraordinary icy power. A Nordic symbol formed on its blades—an intricate rune resembling a snowflake sculpted by winter itself. When the magic is activated, this rune emits an ethereal blue glow, pulsing softly, and envelops the axe in a thin, cold mist that dances in the air like shimmering ice dust.

This ice, known as the Ice of the Frozen Moon, is no ordinary frost. It possesses the power to crystallize the souls of its enemies, turning them into frozen sculptures under the moonlight. The mystery of why the moon chose this weapon remains unanswered, but the legend lives on as one of the many magical tales that make Skyrim such an unforgettable place.
